The WSU Afghan eQuality Alliances are building the future of Afghanistan through the strengthening of public and private universities, with a particular emphasis on links with government institutions such as the Civil Service Training Institute, businesses and other stakeholders in a strong university capacity. Alliances join university experts from the region, Europe and the U.S. with Afghan university leaders to build core competencies in digital libraries, teaching and learning software platforms, English language, student preparation approaches, facilities management and higher education leadership and management. Other alliances are modernizing faculties including computer science, engineering, management and public policy, public administration, pharmacy, Law and Shari’a and urban and regional planning. These efforts include curriculum reform, development of appropriate content, introduction of new teaching methodologies, and implementation of collaborative teaching links with the off-shore partner universities. The results will include two or more collaborative MS degree programs.
