Customs Facility Opens

The Afghan Customs Department takes over customs in Nangarhar Province.

The customs facility in Torkham, Nangarhar province has been handed over to the Afghan Customs Department thanks to the facilitation of the USAID/Bearing Point customs advisor. The modern European Commission-funded facility is a critical element for instituting international customs best practices in Afghanistan, generating revenue, and connecting the port of Karachi, Pakistan with the Central Asian Republics.
