Saplings Distributed

New fruit saplings distributed in an orchard development project.

2 February 2008 | Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan

USAID’s alternative development program distributed over 2,700 saplings to 31 commercial orchard and nursery farmers in the Kishim District of Badakhshan. The peach, plum, apricot, and cherry saplings are the first trees planted through the orchard development program in this district and will take 3-5 years to mature.
