Businesswomen from Kabul brainstorm on a list of ways to find buy-ers in India for their products.

On September 3, 2012, USAID’s Trade and Accession Facilitation for Afghanistan (TAFA) project trained more than 30 businesswomen on methods to access international markets and increase their sales.

In June 2012, these  businesswomen, who variously run fleets of trucks, supply construction material, design software programs and make furniture, went to India to seek new deals, training and technology from Indian companies. The three-day Delhi Investment Summit on Afghanistan drew 124 Indian businesses representatives – more than twice the number expected to attend.

More than 350 representatives from Afghanistan, India, other countries in the region and further afield also  attended the summit.
